Haworthia Fasciata Big Band (Fairies Washboard)
Description
With distinctive green fleshy leaves, etched with strong white lines growing as a rosette, this delightful succulent is a great beginners plant that won’t take up much space. The leaves have pronounced ridges running across them, hence the rather lovely common name ‘fairies washboard’. Although they can have small white flowers held above tall wiry stems, it is the beautiful leaves that it is grown for. As an added bonus, this plant often produces small baby plants, or offsets, at the base of the main rosette of leaves, which can be potted up to give to all your friends! Haworthia fasciata is a succulent native to Southern America and is a close relative to the aloe plant. Supplied in 5.5 cm and 11cm growers pots. Plant Care Tips: Light: The Haworthia fasciata will appreciate some bright, indirect sunlight throughout the day but can cope in slightly more shaded locations. Avoid direct sunlight as this can cause the stems to burn. Please note: the pot in the photograph is not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery pot). They do however make excellent potted plants and, if you wish to pot yours up, we do have a wide range of pots on our website to choose from. Please note: images show how this plant may look at various stages of maturity. The size you choose may look different
Water: Water when soil is almost dry, this Haworthia needs free draining soil as excess water can cause it to rot. Perlite is an excellent addition to the soil for drainage.
Fertiliser: Will appreciate a cactus fertiliser solution in spring and summer, none in winter.
Toxicity: The Haworthia fasciata is non-toxic and pet safe.
