Skimmia Japonica Rubella
£9.99
Description
Small, bushy and evergreen, these Skimmias are a great shrub if you’re short on space. Relatively slow growing, they’ll ultimately reach up to 1.5m tall and will grow out to a similar width (if you let them).
But there’s so much more to Rubellas – as they provide a spray of red buds from late winter, which open into scented white flowers in early spring making for a great aesthetic in the colder months.
Great for filling in gaps in borders, Skimmia Japonica Rubellas also work brilliantly as container plants and you can even use them in festive indoor displays at Christmas too. Their long deep green leaves are aromatic and they provide a unique but delicate complement to most other planting.
Lovers of moist but well-drained soil – in full sun or partial shade; they respond well to mulching and feeding in spring which will keep them in top condition.
