Description
An interesting evergreen shrub native to New Zealand. The Coprosma ‘Evening Glow’, sometimes known as the Mirror plant due to its shiny, glossy foliage is a lovely and compact addition to the garden with its colourful variegated foliage. The leaves appear with shades of green, turning to yellow hues in the Summer months before shifting to orange, red and brown in the Autumn and Winter.
Plant in moist, light, well-drained soils and keep in full or partial sun. A somewhat tender evergreen that will require some shelter in the Winter and protection from frost. Great for coastal areas with salty air and spray.
Characteristics: Bushy, evergreen perennial shrub with glossy green foliage and yellow, pink and brown variegation throughout the year.
Growth & Spread: Ultimate height and Spread of 0.5 – 1m,
Period of Interest: Year-round interest. Green foliage with yellow variegation in Spring and Summer, shifting to orange-red and brown hues in the Autumn and Winter months.
Water & Maintenance: Plant in light, moist, well-drained soil. Keep in full or partial sun. Requires some shelter and frost protection in Winter. Tolerant of coastal winds
