Why We Love It:
Antirrhinum ‘Rust Resistant Mixed’ offers all the cottage garden charm of classic snapdragons—tall spires of vivid, dragon-shaped blooms—with improved resistance to rust, a common issue in UK gardens. This vibrant mix includes reds, pinks, yellows, and creams, perfect for adding a splash of colour and structure. They’re easy to grow, loved by pollinators, and make excellent cut flowers too.
Planting & Care Tips:
When to Plant: Sow indoors from January to March, or outdoors after last frost from May onwards
Where to Plant: Sunny, sheltered spots in beds, borders, or containers
Spacing: 20–30cm apart
Care Notes: Water regularly, especially in dry spells, and feed monthly for best results. Pinch out young shoots to encourage bushier growth. Deadhead to prolong flowering
The Nunhead Gardener Recommends:
Combine with cosmos or rudbeckia in a sunny border, or use in a dedicated cutting patch for a constant supply of colour. Great for South London gardeners after reliable, low-maintenance blooms with fewer pest problems.
