Why We Love It

‘Queen of Night’ has been a garden favourite for decades, celebrated for its bold, almost-black flowers that lend a touch of theatre to late-spring borders. The satiny petals catch the light beautifully, giving subtle depth and intrigue.

This tulip pairs strikingly with soft pinks, whites, or pale yellows for a romantic palette, or with fiery oranges and reds for an intense, high-contrast look. Long-lasting and elegant, it also makes an outstanding cut flower for dramatic arrangements indoors.

How to Plant & Grow

• Plant from September to December before the ground freezes.
• Choose a sunny or partially shaded spot with well-drained soil.
• Plant bulbs 10cm deep and 10cm apart.
• Water well after planting and avoid waterlogging.
