Why We Love It
‘Red Lion’ is one of the most popular amaryllis varieties for good reason, its huge scarlet blooms add instant impact and a sense of luxury to any room. Each bulb produces multiple flowers on strong stems, lasting for weeks and often reblooming the following year with the right care.
It’s an easy, rewarding bulb to grow indoors, making it a wonderful seasonal gift or a striking addition to your own winter displays.
How to Plant & Grow
• Plant indoors between October and January.
• Use a pot just slightly larger than the bulb, with free-draining compost.
• Position the bulb so that the top third remains above the soil.
• Water sparingly until growth appears, then increase watering gradually.
• After flowering, allow the leaves to grow and feed regularly to replenish the bulb for next year.
