A bold and unusual crocus, Crocus ‘Orange Monarch’ displays striking orange petals with dark, flame-like veining that gives each bloom a dramatic appearance. Flowering early in the season, it brings warmth, vibrancy, and contrast to borders, lawns, and pots when little else is in bloom.

Why We Love It

‘Orange Monarch’ is one of the most striking crocus varieties available, its glowing orange petals set dramatically against dark, almost black markings. Compact but eye-catching, it stands out beautifully in lawns, borders, or rock gardens.

It naturalises readily, returning year after year in ever-expanding clumps. Plant it in drifts for maximum impact, or pair with purple or white crocuses for a bold colour contrast. Perfect for adding a touch of drama to early spring planting schemes.

How to Plant & Grow

• Plant from September to November before the ground freezes.
• Choose a sunny or partially shaded spot with well-drained soil.
• Plant bulbs 8–10cm deep and 5–8cm apart.
• Water well after planting and keep soil moist but not waterlogged.
• Allow foliage to die back naturally to feed bulbs for the following year.
