Why We Love It:
‘El Greco’ is a standout courgette variety prized for its heavy crops of slender, dark green fruits with superb flavour and texture. It’s known for its excellent resistance to common diseases like powdery mildew, helping to extend your harvest season. Compact and bushy, it’s perfect for smaller growing spaces without compromising on yield or taste.

Sowing & Growing Tips:

  • When to Sow: Young plants can be planted outdoors after the last frost, typically from May onwards.

  • Germination Time: (For reference if sowing seeds) 7–14 days at 18–22°C

  • Where to Grow: Sunny vegetable beds, large containers, or raised beds

  • Care Notes: Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Feed with a high-potash fertiliser once flowering begins. Regular picking encourages more fruits to form.

The Nunhead Gardener Recommends:

Grow alongside marigolds to attract pollinators and deter pests naturally. Courgette ‘El Greco’ is delicious grilled, spiralised for salads, or lightly sautéed with garlic and herbs for a fresh summer side dish.
