Sansevieria Fernwood Mikado – Snake Plant
Description
Sansevieria Fernwood Mikado is a compact hybrid Snake Plant. Fernwood Sansevieria has dark green leaves with striking light green tiger-print striping. The Mikado form adds an interesting fountain-like shape for a more modern vibe. Considered virtually indestructible this is an excellent choice for most places. Snake plants are great for darker offices and their air-purifying qualities make them ideal for the bedroom too. Please note: some scarring may occur on the leaves. Light: Sanseviera Fernwood Mikado does best in moderate to bright, indirect light, but can also adapt to low light conditions if preferred. All our plants are delivered in a plastic pot Watering: Allow the soil to dry out completely before watering. Water thoroughly and allow to drain freely. Don’t allow the plant to sit in water as this will cause root rot. Temperature: This Snake Plant is happy in places with temperatures between 15°C and 23°C and as low as 10°C for short periods. Humidity: The Fernwood Mikado will do fine in normal household humidity. Avoid humid locations but if brown tips develop, consider occasional misting. Feed: Apply a weak dose of cactus or general purpose feed once a month during the growing season. Sansevieria are low maintenance plants and don’t need a lot of food. Height & Growth Rate: Sansevieria Fernwood Mikado is slow-growing and typically reaches an ultimate height of around 75cm to 1m. Toxicity: Sansevieria are mildly toxic if eaten. Keep away from children and animals. Do not consume. Air Purifying: Sansevieria filter airborne toxins such as benzene and formaldehyde and are part of our clean air plant collection. Origin: Sansevieria Fernwood Mikado is native to the tropical West African region. Please note that the pot in the photograph is not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery pot). They do however make excellent potted plants, and if you wish to pot yours up, we do have a wide range of pots on our website to choose from. Please note: images show how this plant may look at various stages of maturity. The size you choose may look different.
