Description
Osmanthus burkwoodii is a beautiful evergreen, spring flowering shrub. It bears small, oval, dark green leaves, which make a striking backdrop to its clusters of tubular white, fragrant flowers. Osmanthus burkwoodii is slow growing, usually taking a year or two to establish and begin growing strongly, but given time, makes an excellent feature plant for borders or hedging.
Osmanthus burkwoodii grows well either in sun or shade however, it will bear more flowers if situated in a sunny spot.
Plant in autumn or early to mid-spring – ideally in spring in colder areas so the plant becomes well established before winter. In milder areas, autumn is the best time to plant. Water during dry spells for the first growing season. Osmanthus burkwoodii doesn’t need regular pruning unless grown as a hedge, or if required to restrict growth
