An elegant S-shaped bonsai with small, glossy dark green leaves and a beautifully gnarled trunk, trained over time into its distinctive curved form.

  Light / Position: Needs plenty of natural light; a bright spot near a south-facing window is ideal, and it will benefit from a grow light during darker winter months

  Water / Feed: Water generously as soon as the surface of the soil dries out, making sure it drains well and never sits in a puddle; feed every few waterings through the growing season, tapering off in winter

  Temperature / Humidity: Keep at a fairly stable 18–28°C, away from radiators, draughts and cold windows; enjoys average to high humidity

  Pet / Child Friendly: Toxic if ingested, so best kept well out of reach of pets and children

Care tips:
Regular light trimming keeps the branch structure dense and encourages fuller growth, and young shoots are flexible enough to shape while mature wood becomes hard and brittle. Try to avoid moving it around too often, as sudden changes in light or position can cause leaf drop.
