Dypsis Lutescens – Areca Palm
Description
A graceful, attractive palm with closely growing upright stems and long arching linear leaves, that makes a handsome focal point for any room. Still one of the most popular houseplants and it’s easy to see why as it is so versatile and easy to look after. Please note that the pot in the photograph is not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery pot). They do however make excellent potted plants, and if you wish to pot yours up, we do have a wide range of pots on our website to choose from. Areca Palm Care Keep me in bright indirect light and water me when the top of my soil has dried out. Light: Place me in a sunny spot, ideally next to an east or west-facing window, or back from a south-facing window. Humidity: I love humidity. Mist me regularly to keep me fresh and glowing. Watering: Water me whenever the top few centimetres of my soil has dried out. Air Purifying: The Areca palm was included in a NASA study on air-purifying plants and was proven to be the most effective plant out of all those tested at breaking down harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) found in modern homes. Toxicity: The Areca palm houseplant is non-toxic so although not advised should pose no harm if accidentally chewed or eaten by your furry friends.
