• Light / Position: Bright, indirect or filtered light; avoid direct sunlight. Can tolerate lower-light positions.


• Water / Feed: Keep compost consistently lightly moist but never waterlogged. Use filtered, rain or soft water where possible and feed monthly during spring and summer.


• Temperature / Humidity: Warm and humid conditions are ideal. Keep above 16°C and away from cold draughts, radiators and sudden temperature changes.


• Pet / Child Friendly: Considered non-toxic to cats, dogs and children.


• Air purifying: Yes – part of the Air So Pure range and known for helping to filter indoor air pollutants.


• Growth / Spread: Moderately fast-growing, reaching around 60cm tall with a similar compact, clump-forming spread.

Care tips

Keep your Calathea in bright, indirect light and maintain evenly moist compost, allowing excess water to drain away. It loves humidity, so a bathroom or kitchen with good natural light can make an excellent home; alternatively, group it with other houseplants or use a humidifier. Wipe the leaves gently to keep their striking patterns dust-free and remove any tired or damaged foliage.
