Why We Love It:
Nasturtium ‘Jewel Mix’ produces a dazzling display of bright, semi-double blooms in rich shades of red, orange, and yellow, held above compact, bushy foliage. Not only are they incredibly easy to grow, but every part of the plant is edible—ideal for brightening up summer salads with their peppery flavour. Great for filling gaps, edging borders, or cascading from pots, they also attract pollinators and help deter aphids from neighbouring crops.
Planting & Care Tips:
When to Plant: Sow outdoors from April to June after the last frost
Where to Plant: Sunny beds, borders, pots, or hanging baskets
Spacing: 25–30cm apart
Care Notes: Water in dry spells and avoid overfeeding—poorer soils encourage more flowers than foliage. Deadhead regularly to extend the blooming season
The Nunhead Gardener Recommends:
Plant near tomatoes or beans to help deter pests and attract pollinators. Try using the vibrant petals as a garnish or grow in window boxes for an edible floral display right outside your kitchen.
