Description

A unique double-flowered grape hyacinth, Muscari ‘Blue Spike’, produces dense spikes of starry, pale blue blooms that open gradually from green buds. More unusual than classic muscari, this variety brings soft texture and delicate colour to spring borders, pots, and naturalised drifts.

Why We Love It

‘Blue Spike’ is a standout muscari variety, admired for its unusual double blooms and soft pastel tones. The clustered flower spikes create a frothy, textural effect that pairs beautifully with tulips, narcissus, and anemones for layered spring displays.

Hardy and easy to grow, it naturalises readily, forming larger groups each year. Plant in generous drifts for maximum impact, tuck into pots for a delicate seasonal accent, or combine with other early bulbs for a long-lasting display.

How to Plant & Grow

• Plant from September to November.
• Choose a sunny or partially shaded spot with well-drained soil.
• Plant bulbs 8cm deep and space 5–8cm apart.
• Water well after planting and keep soil moist but not waterlogged.
• Allow foliage to die back naturally to feed bulbs for next year.
