Description

Philodendron ‘Birkin’ is a striking houseplant with beautiful white/neon yellow variegation on the leaves, usually appearing as pinstripes but in rare cases, blocks of colour. They’re extremely easy to care for and a must have for any plant collector.

Light: Indirect light

Philodendron do well in a brightly lit spot with no direct sunlight. They can handle full sun in the early morning or late afternoon but if you notice any browning or crisping on the edges of the leaves, it’s best to move it to a shadier spot. Because of their variegation they aren’t as tolerant of lower light levels as other Philodendron.

Watering: Moderate

In Spring and Summer you should let the top inch of soil dry out between waterings, whilst during Autumn and Winter it’s best to let the soil dry at least half way down the pot. The easiest way to check moisture levels is by sticking your finger into the soil to the required depth. The lower the light level, the less watering will be required.

Humidity: Moderate

Philodendron love moisture in the air. No space in your bathroom for more plants? Don’t despair, as most people’s homes are humid enough to house one of these unfussy house guests.
